Meet Mrs. Jennifer Perry
I am very excited to be teaching in Bloomington since I have lived in the area most of my life. I attended Edgewood schools and then earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from IU. After nine years as a full-time mother, I returned to IU to study library science and education. I graduated with my Masters in Library Science and School Media certification in 2006. I have worked as a volunteer and substitute librarian in many MCCSC schools.
I love to travel with my husband, Bill, and my son, Liam. We have visited Ireland, Italy, Hawaii, and many other fun places in the U.S. Rounding out our family is a mixed breed hound dog named Roger.
I enjoy baking bread and desserts to share with friends. I love to eat ethnic food (Turkish is my current favorite). I like to knit and listen to music by people who write the words and play the instruments.
My favorite books are often about history and historical fiction, but I also enjoy fantasy and science fiction, including TV shows like Dr. Who, Firefly, and the X-Files and books by Neil Gaiman and Madeleine L'Engle. I love good characters and relationships more than action, but I think the best stories have both. Stop by the library and tell me about your favorite books!
